In the first round, Astana will meet with the strongest team of Belarus of the last season, FC Dynamo Brest. In the current championship of their country, Brest is in 9th place, with 29 points in 19 matches played.
Astana and Dynamo have not met before, however, the Kazakhstan Champion played twice with another representative of Belarus – FC BATE, and both times, on aggregate, it was players of FC Astana who went further. Moreover, the last meeting was quite recently – in 2019.
