The head coach of Astana, Grigory Babayan commented on the outcome of the match against Ordabasy.
- Due to the fact that we have an upcoming match in the Champions League, we left a certain group of players in Astana, we did not want to risk. Initially, we were not planning to win the cup, but it is clear that this is a semi-final and if we enter the field, we must play.
As for the match, I think that it turned out to be two different halves: in the first one we had much more chances, where our players just had to score. In the second half, Ordabasy was a little better than us. They scored a goal and everything went into extra time. Both of the teams had many chances. Unfortunately we didn't use our chances. Ordabasy scored a controversial goal, we watched the replay a hundred times, it is impossible to say for sure whether the ball crossed the line or not. Let the judiciary figure it out, everything was very controversial there.
In general, we must pay tribute to our players, they worked hard. Now we need to recover, in 6 days we have the Champions League.
