Nenad Eric: “We need to lift our heads up and go forward”
31 aug 2020

FC Astana lost points in the match against FC Taraz, and the next day they recognized their opponent in the 2nd Round of the Europa League. The captain of the capital team Nenad Eric told about the match in the Championship, the pause and European Competitions:

- It’s hard to say something after the match, we lost points. Of course, we have problems in the game, but any team has slowdowns. Now we need to lift our heads up and go forward, trying to resolve these problems and rectify this situation. I would like to apologize to our fans, which always support us, so far we were not able to greatly please them with the result. But we need to look ahead, I am sure that together we can get out of this situation. Nothing has been lost for us, both in the Championship and in the Europa League.

- You played your first match since March. How do you feel?

- I haven’t been playing for a long time, it was felt. In principle, I felt good, but there is fatigue.

- The Champion of Montenegro Budnocnost became the opponent of FC Astana. How do you rate the draw?

- There are no easy opponents in European Competitions, especially if Buducnost is the Champion of their country! But now we need to take into consideration our shape! I hope we will be ready by September 17!

- There is a break for international matches ahead. Will this pause help the team?

- I think it should be useful. We have a difficult situation, but FC Astana is a big club, we only need to go forward.
